My First Book Signing Ever

So this last week I did my first signing ever, and it was at Costco. I discovered the best part of writing Secret Speakers: meeting the people who are going to read it and become part of the Secret Speakers family. Here I am at Costco with family who was there to help out, a Read & Rate it early reader I finally got to meet after over a year (who brought me a smoothie. Thanks, Weldon!), a librarian, and children who loved the Luminamen display.
Good times, good times. The next two days I could hardly get out of bed, so it was definitely a workout for yours truly. Lots of signings ahead. I think I can, I think I can, I think I can. Besides, I have to get out of the house. I had so much fun. I’m off to do more signings today, and wonder just who I’ll meet today! I’ve done one more in between that first day and today, and I was thrilled that two people bought copies for their family read-alouds. My husband told me one of his athletes’ grandmothers stole her copy to read to her granddaughter because she’d started reading it to her as a bedtime story when they were visiting, and her grand daughter insisted they had to finish it. It does my heart good to know the story is being read.
